Meet Mrs Close
I am passionate, I am joyful, I am a learner, I am a teacher.....aide.
(I am soon to be a teacher!)
A little about myself. I live about 100km south of Roma. I enjoy living the rural lifestyle - horse riding, mustering, camping and fishing - however this lifestyle comes with sacrifices as there are not many (if any) cultural events and performances that I am able to attend nearby! I love spontaneity, trying new things and growing as a person in skills and knowledge.

I have been teacher aiding since 2010 which has been great experience while studying my Bachelor of Education and I treasure the days spent with the children I work with.

In 2011 I spent a year north east of Julia Creek where I governessed for a family, caring for three children and working with the eldest to complete his Year 1 through School of the Air. I could have easily stayed but knew that teaching was my goal and was drawn back home to begin my studies.

I first started studying on campus however later married my amazing husband thus moving west to complete my studies online. I have continued teacher aiding so have gained so much knowledge and experience and feel I have a very realistic view of the profession before I begin my career.

After majoring in the secondary sector, ironically, I have worked significantly more with the younger students in our local primary school and would not be surprised if I end up teaching the younger primary years. Even so, having some 'dramatic tendencies' up my sleeve is a great help (and great fun) with the younger students.
